What are the precautions to be taken by a banker while opening an account in the name of a married woman?
Answer: The banker should take due precaution in opening an account in the name of a pardanashin woman. As the identity of such woman cannot be ascertained, the banker generally refuses to open an account in her name. Bankers take their thumb impression as a substitute for signature and a copy of photograph.
Can lunatic person open bank account?
Based on the said guardianship certificate issued by the local level committee the bank can open an account in the name of a person with mental retardation and multiple disabilities, both minor and major and allow the account to be operated by their guardian as appointed by the Act.
