This traditional, family-run hotel is located directly by the slopes amidst a beautiful mountain landscape making it the ideal ski in ski out property.

Starting its life a as a simple mountain hut over 70 years ago, today the Hotel Sonnenburg offers modern comfort, traditional hospitality with a very personal touch.

The hotel consists of the main building and the Sonnenburg Landhaus .They are connected by an underground mirrored walkway, which allows you to reach all the important areas of the Hotel from both buildings without any difficulty.

The bedrooms are spacious and well-appointed which have been lovingly decorated using natural fabrics giving them a warm, cosy charm.

There are plenty of different room configurations suitable for single travellers through to large family groups.

The Hotel Restaurant Sonneburg will not disappoint our guests, Head chef, Christian Rumpold, focuses on local quality and combines traditional Austrian cuisine with modern, international dishes. There is an excellent choice of Austrian and International wines which complement the excellent food. Children are also very well catered for.

In addition to the guests restaurant there is a small cosy restaurant: The Schüna is a unique log cabin attached to the hotel. At lunchtime crêpes are served there, and in the evening you can enjoy raclette and fondue specialities à la carte. You can also take lunch or enjoy a hot chocolate and apple strudel on the large sun terrace whilst enjoying the views.

The hotel has a well-stocked library complete with fireplace where you can squirrel yourself away if the weather is inclement.

There is also an in house supervised Kindergarten for children 2 years plus, and another play area for slightly older children and of course a teenage room.

In the hotels new wellness area you’ll find all that you need for relaxation after an eventful day of skiing. A restful sauna oasis, an ice fountain and a mist grotto for optimum cooling down, as well as a beauty and massage salon. You can swim laps in the ten-metre-long indoor pool, if you feel so inclined.
