St Anton is a typical Tyrolean resort that has arguably some of the best skiing in the Alps. This famous party town is bustling throughout the day and well into the early hours of the morning.  It is known for its fantastic skiing and world class off-piste runs which attracts keen skiers year after year.

Skiing started in St Anton over a century ago and it has developed from a picturesque farming village to a major international ski resort. Lying in a partly wooded valley, it boasts breathtaking views from the mountain summits.

The town is renowned for its après ski that starts on the slopes above the village in the early afternoon.  The general attitude of visitors to the resort is ski hard, party hard. For those seeking a more refined evening, then the cosy bars in some of the hotels may be more appealing. There are a wide variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. St Anton is great fun but might not be the best option for those seeking a quiet retreat.

The focal point of the resort is the pedestrianised main street, which provides a distinct village feel and has a wide selection of shops and some pleasant cafés. The lift system is much improved giving greater access to the slopes from closer to the centre of town.

As the skiing extends to an altitude of 2,650 metres there is a very reliable snow record which also ensures a long season. Although it is not the ideal resort for beginners or timid intermediates, more confident intermediate skiers and snowboarders will find that there at many options to explore and challenge. There are also several good mountain huts that serve local specialities to enjoy throughout the day.

Off-mountain activities include winter walking trails, a ski museum and outdoor ice-climbing.
