The village of Klosters retains much of its traditional alpine atmosphere.  It is a fairly quiet, relaxed resort that radiates sophistication, style and elegance. Although the resort appears to cater for the high end of the market, good value accommodation is available.

This attractive resort is linked in with Davos creating a superb alpine wonderland to suit all levels of skier and snowboarder.  Its steep wooded valleys and craggy peaks create an impressive backdrop. Its relaxed atmosphere is considered ideal for families.

The village is made up of two areas of Klosters Platz, where the resort’s restaurants and bars abound, and Dorf, the quiet, relaxed part of the village. Skiing can be accessed by cable car in the heart of Platz to the Gotschnagrat end of the Parsenn mountain area which also links to Davos, or a gondola from Dorf takes you up to the scenic Madrisa area.

The surrounding mountains offer a large variety of skiing and snowboarding, especially if you include the nearby resort of Davos. The beautiful Parsenn mountain area, with its well groomed pistes, is considered to be a perfect place for intermediates to ski, and there are also some wonderful long runs down into the valley where you can stop for a much needed cup of hot chocolate or vin chaud at one of the delightful mountain huts. The smaller Madrisa Mountain has plenty to offer including the magic carpet and special beginner’s lifts, play areas for children. There is lots of accessible off-piste terrain and for snowboarders there are two terrain parks and a half pipe.

There are several good restaurants and bars in town offering something for everyone. However, the après ski and nightlife tends to centre on a few smart bars and the more exclusive hotels.

Off mountain activities include horse-drawn sleigh rides, paragliding, several toboggan runs and there are some 50 km of cross country ski trails.
