Considered by many as Switzerland’s finest resort and one of the world’s great ski areas, Verbier attracts those who enjoy a hard day’s skiing followed by a throbbing après ski and nightlife that continues well into the early hours of the morning.

The resort is surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. From the top of Mont Fort there are impressive views in all directions including the Mont Blanc massif to the west and the Matterhorn to east.

This fashionable village, full of traditional wooden chalets, has a relaxed and informal atmosphere and attracts a much younger cosmopolitan crowd than many of the Swiss resorts.  Smart shops and designer boutiques abound amongst the many enticing patisseries, lively bars and restaurants.

The village itself tends to sprawl over a large area but there is an efficient free bus that runs until early evening.

Verbier’s ski area is vast with an extensive network that ensures you will never be bored. It caters for all levels of skier, but has more to offer the advanced skier and the intermediate who aspires to the next challenge.  For those who relish the thrill of the off-piste it has some of the best in the world. (A guide is recommended for off-piste skiing.) There are also several mountain restaurants to choose from offering a variety of cuisine from fine dining to a quick croq.

Off-mountain activities include 10km sledge run, ice skating, ice climbing, dog sledding, paragliding and heli-skiing, as well as snow-shoe trekking and winter walking along its well marked paths.
